Ejido Alfredo V. Bonfil Desert Sheep Hunt, Mexico
Grand Slam Club/Ovis is most pleased to offer this amazing desert sheep hunt. We auctioned one of these hunts at our 2009 convention and another one at our 2010 convention. The 2009 high bidder, Jeff Murray of New York, took a great ram on that dolph-2009hunt in February 2010. Dennis Campbell was high bidder for the 2010 convention hunt, and he got an amazing ram that scored 179 3/8 SCI. He hunted in early March 2010. You will find out all about this hunt we are auctioning by reading his story here.
When you read the story, you will find that Jeff and Dennis were the first two people to hunt with the fine people of Ejido Bonfil utilizing a boat. This method has opened up a lot of new territory for hunting two of the three mountains of the amazing Ejido Bonfil hunting area. Many GSCO members have hunted there over the years, including three who took rams big enough to receive one of our Trophy Awards at past conventions. Scott Limmer (CO) took a ram in 2007 that scored 168 7/8; Everett “Buzz” Madson (NE) took a ram in 2008 scoring 171 4/8; and Bret Dolph (ID) got a huge ram scoring 176 6/8 in

2009.

Bottom line is that this is one of the most well-run desert sheep hunts available in all of Mexico. A hunter will have an excellent chance of getting not only a record book ram, but a really big one well into the 170s. Head guides Luis Chavarria & Alfredo Barajas are highly qualified and can judge trophy size as well as anyone. The whole crew is anxious to get their hunters the largest ram possible.
An English-speaking interpreter/guide will be with the high bidder throughout the entire hunt, beginning upon arrival in Loreto, La Paz or Los Cabos, South Baja, Mexico. Practically everything else is included from that point. Gun permits are no problem and madson-2008will be taken care of expeditiously. The GSCO office will work closely to help the high bidder through the process.
This hunt can be taken in December 2010 or January through March 2011. There is a tremendous conservation program associated with this permit and hunt. GSCO is pleased to continue our involvement with this highly successful and ongoing desert sheep habitat program. We appreciate the Ejido Bonfil officials who run this program coming on board with GSCO as a partner in conservation. Frankly, this is one of the finest offerings we have ever had for an Internet auction. Besides this permit, we will have two more for our 2011 convention auction and even another one about this time next year for another Internet auction.
Do not miss out on this great opportunity!
